How Leaderboards Work
Real-Time Rankings
Leaderboards update as participants sync their activity:
- Your rank changes when you or others sync
- Pull to refresh for latest standings
- See detailed stats for each participant
Ranking Metrics
Depending on the gauntlet type:

| Distance | Total miles or kilometers |
| Calories | Active calories burned |
| Active Minutes | Time in moderate-vigorous activity |
| Sleep | Total hours of sleep |
| Quality Sleep | Weighted sleep score (deep, REM, light) |
| Workouts | Completed workout sessions |
Tie Breakers
If two participants have the same total:
- First to reach the total wins
- If still tied, earlier join time wins

Overall Rankings
- See all participants ranked by total
- Your position highlighted
- Distance to next rank shown
Time-Based Views
- Today - Today's activity only
- This Week - Current week totals
- All Time - Total since challenge start
Detailed Stats
Tap any participant to see:
- Daily breakdown
- Activity trends
- Best/worst days
- Comparison to you
Prize Distribution
How Payouts Work
For Goal Gauntlets with entry fees:
- Entry fees form the prize pool
- A 10% platform fee is deducted (7% for Pro subscribers)
- Organizer sets payout structure when creating
- Challenge ends → leaderboard locks
- Prizes calculated automatically from the net pool
- Winnings are deposited to your wallet
Common Payout Structures
Winner Takes All
1st place: 100%
Top 3
1st: 50%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 20%
Top 10%
All in top 10% split equally
Example calculation:
- 20 participants × $20 entry = $400 gross pool
- 10% platform fee = $40
- Net prize pool = $360
- Top 3 structure:
- 1st: $180
- 2nd: $108
- 3rd: $72
Your Wallet
Prize winnings are deposited to your in-app wallet. From there you can:
- Use for entry fees - Apply your balance toward new gauntlets
- Cash out - Withdraw to bank account or gift card (minimum $10)
- View history - See all transactions: winnings, cashouts, entry fees, refunds
Cashing Out
- Go to Settings → Wallet → Cash Out
- Choose your payout method:

Bank Deposit setup: If you prefer direct bank deposits, you'll complete a one-time Stripe verification to link your bank account.

Encouraged:
- Friendly competition
- Encouraging messages
- Celebrating others' achievements
Discouraged:
- Excessive trash talk
- Gaming the system
- Fake activity
Fundraising Leaderboards
For Fundraising Gauntlets, leaderboards show:
- Amount raised - Total pledges × activity
- Activity total - Miles/steps completed
- Supporters - Number of pledge supporters
Team fundraisers show both individual and team rankings.
Virtual Journey Leaderboards
For Virtual Journeys, leaderboards show:
- Individual contribution - Your distance added
- Percentage of team total - Your share
- Daily/weekly rankings - Recent activity

Q: Why did my rank change when I didn't do anything? A: Others synced their activity. Leaderboards are relative.
Q: Can I hide my activity from others? A: No, leaderboard transparency ensures fair competition.
Q: What if someone is cheating? A: Report suspicious activity to support. We investigate all reports.
Q: When exactly does the leaderboard lock? A: At the scheduled end time, plus a 1-hour grace period for final syncs.
